The 5-Out Ball Screen spaces the floor with the ball side and weak side corners filled, along with the weak side slot. The reason it is effective is that a passing decision is available to counter whatever defensive coverage is used. In addition to the handler and roller decisions, the spacing creates top to top passes, skip to the weak side passes, and snap back passes.
This course will look at the 5-Out Ball Screen and provide different solutions vs. coverages and attempt to identify the most effective reads and decisions for the offense. The underlying teaching points of what works best and where will also be explored.
The 5-Out Ball Screen can be run as a primary action, secondary action, or continuity. This course provides a template for understanding ball screen reads and decisions that can be applied to most ball screen offenses and situations.
